“Mathematical Proficiency for Every Student: Continuing the Journey Together” Conference

WMC and the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction are proud to present one-day conferences focusing on intervention/prevention and the Common Core Standards for Mathematics.   Offered in Wausau on November 10 & 11, 2011 and repeated in Oconomowoc on December 1 & 2, 2011, these professional learning opportunities feature nationally recognized keynote speakers as well as state experts leading breakout sessions to discuss grade level lessons and share best practice strategies.   The conferences are being offered to assist school districts to continue their thoughtful implementation of the Common Core Standards for Mathematics.  Keynote speakers include Dr. Sandy Atkins, Executive Director of Creating AHAs and Dr. DeAnn Huinker, Director of the Center for Mathematics and Science Education Research, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

The conferences are for administrators, curriculum directors, mathematics leaders, K-12 classroom teachers, special education teachers, Title I teachers, and university mathematics educators.

Hotel guest rooms are available at a special reduced rate at each conference hotel.  When making reservations, please mention that you are with the Wisconsin Mathematics Council to receive the special conference rate.  Contact the Jefferson Street Inn at 866-855-6500 to make reservations for the November 10 & 11 conferences and the Olympia Resort and Conference at 800-558-9573 to make reservations for the December 1 & 2 conferences.  You must call to receive the special conference rate.
